Today we want to acknowledge and celebrate our amazing team of Early Childhood Educators and the work that they do every day within Junior Adventures Group and Helping Hands Network. Your contribution to the wellbeing and healthy development of the young children in care does not go unrecognised.
This year has been a challenging one for all of us. We opened the year with bushfires raging across large parts of our country. I am so thankful as a team we were able to support not only services that were not as lucky as us, and lost resources to the fires but our communities as well. So many of our service team members and children got involved in projects like gathering water donations in QLD, creating crocheted nests and pouches for injured wildlife for WIRES in NSW, creating thank you posters, cards, and poems for all of the emergency service workers across the country, and local fundraising/ donation projects to help those in need.
It seems just as we began to see the end of the bushfires, we were then hit with the Coronavirus Pandemic. This forced us to be more innovative, creative and adaptable than ever before. You continued to provide stability, support and fun for the children in your care, helping families of essential workers and vulnerable children. And for the children that weren’t able to come into our services during lockdown, you all rallied together to find a way to bring the OSHC fun home and created OSHC at Home. I’m so blown away by the sheer talent, resourcefulness and passion of our team and can not thank you all enough.
However you celebrate today as a team, with the children in your service, with your peers and leaders please know that the whole of the Junior Adventures Group family thanks you.
You’re all everyday heroes: passionate, considerate and courageous!
