Helping Hands has been providing high-quality Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) services for school communities since 2008. We pride ourselves on our extraordinary and dedicated people, creating teams that become part of your school to facilitate a seamless extension of the school day. Our mission to build brighter futures together drives us to make a difference in the lives of children in our care.
When the world turned upside down, we turned our attention to keeping team members and children safe.
Whilst individual service risk assessments and our Helping Hands’ COVID-19 Health and Safety Resource Pack guided our teams on effective cleaning and hygiene procedures; we took time to consider the mental health impact a pandemic may have on our people and school communities.
Our Educator-created OSHC at Home programs provided opportunities to keep connections warm, and children entertained. Our next step? Preparing tailored transitions back into our services for team members and children.
With the once-clear lines separating home, office and school now blurred, the need for well structured, well resourced, and well supported Outside School Hours Care is more important than ever. As we begin a new year, our focus will be on listening to the voice of the child, creating safe spaces, much-needed structure and routine, and adjusting transitions to suit individuals.
